Tasks

First year: 1. Slovakia is responsible for preparing activities based on the crucial events of the history of each country. Slovakia will produce the guidelines for the other countries involving the History teachers and students ideas (September 2009). After the agreed period of time, each country will distribute the booklet to the other countries (December 2009). Based upon the collected materials, Slovak students will design a quiz which will be played by the other countries as well (January 2010).

2. Norway is in charge of preparing activities based on the social and economic status of each country. Norwegian students will produce guidelines to create a postcard  that will reflect important aspects of everyday life of youth (January 2010). After the agreed period of time, the other countries will send the 5 best postcards (chosen in a school contest) to the other countries (March 2010). Based upon the collected materials, students in each country will organize a postcard exhibition (April 2010).

3. The Netherlands is responsible for preparing a basic cultural dictionary and CD describing cultural traditions of each country especially in those fields where they differ from each other emphasizing their unique contribution to the common European heritage. Moreover, this dictionary will contain the most commonly used expressions and vocabulary (in Spanish, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Slovak and English) that will allow students to communicate at a basic level (September 2009). Dutch students will produce a guideline for the other countries expressing their ideas.  After an agreed period of time (January 2010) the other countries will send their vocabulary lists to the Dutch students who will finalize it (June 2010).

Second year:4. Spain is responsible for preparing activities based on art – photography. They will produce a guideline for the other countries expressing student ideas (September 2010). After an agreed period of time, everybody will send the 5 best photographs to Spain (December 2010). Based upon the collected materials, students will prepare a photo exhibition representing all the countries (January 2011).

5. Poland is responsible for preparing activities based on current preferences in national music. They will produce a guideline for the other countries expressing student ideas (November 2010). After an agreed period of time, the other countries will send a CD and some information about singers, musicians and the bands to Poland (February 2011). The album with the collected materials and attached CD will be distributed to everybody by Poland. Students will prepare an open school day to promote the countries involved and the project (March 2011).

6. Slovakia will write a script for a theatre play based upon the collected information about participating countries (starting in December 2009). The final play representing the involved countries will be presented by Slovakian students in May/June 2011 (the choice of Slovakia is based upon their present experience in script writing and students` involvement in a drama activity). The play will be taped and distributed on DVD to each country.
