Our objective is to raise awareness of European Citizenship through participation in activities at a European level. We wish to encourage our students’ involvement in European affairs by acquiring a deeper knowledge of the participating countries focusing on history, geography, environment, language, art, music and social sciences.

We consider this project is an excellent vehicle to improve their command of English and to develop their knowledge of new technologies. From our point of view this project provides a platform to raise the commitment to our schools of various partners involved such as parents, local authorities and friends of our schools. One of our objectives is to stimulate our students’ and teachers´ cooperation and to motivate them to language learning as an important means of communication and understanding as engaged citizens of the European community.

We intend to address cultural awareness, mutual understanding, broadening horizons and active participation in social affairs.

Our approach is student orientated, with the support of teaching staff, actively based on peer teaching and exchanging information in a joyful and innovative way.

Our practise is that students though living in the European Union they do not know much about other countries. With this project we intend to make students realise the other partners´ countries – Norway, Polland, Holland, Slovakia and Spain. We planned to measure their knowledge about the partners by a survey in the begining and then at the end of the project. Slovakia did it in September 2009 when the REAL thing had started.
